QB. New England Patriots. Steve Grogan . 21. player. 47.

Here’s why Steve Grogan is a tease. He played his entire career with the New England Patriots. This spanned 16 seasons. During that time Grogan started a full schedule four times. He started at least four games in nine other seasons. In other words, the Patriots liked his game enough to be too afraid to cut him loose that after some time couldn’t justify keeping him the starter long-term.

How is that not a tease? Here’s another fascinating stat. As a starter, he went 75-60. Not bad right? Then one looks at his passing numbers and they see he completed barely 52% of his passes with 182 touchdowns and 208 interceptions. So it seems he was less the captain of a ship than more the fortunate driver of a high-performance vehicle.
