2018 NFL Power Rankings: Top 32 Head Coaches in the NFL
By Erik Lambert
Pat Shurmur underwent quite the career revival the past few seasons. He was down and out after a rough two-year stint with the Cleveland Browns as head coach. Then he was part of the Chip Kelly experience in Philadelphia. Not until he got to Minnesota and was promoted to offensive coordinator did he finally get a chance to remind people what he could do.
After guiding the Vikings to a 13-3 record that included a surprise success story in Case Keenum at quarterback, the New York Giants saw enough to give him a second chance. The good news is he inherits a much stabler organization than the one he encountered in Cleveland. At the same time, the questions that follow him from the failure there remain.
