Anybody who is surprised by this needs to find another sport to follow. Bill Belichick is in contention for being the greatest head coach in NFL history. He’s gone to the most Super Bowls (8) and won the most Super Bowls (5) of any coach. Of all the coaches who surpassed 200 wins in their career, his .683 winning percentage is the highest ever by a comfortable margin.

The man hasn’t even won fewer than 12 games since 2009. Some will say he’s benefitted greatly from having Tom Brady as his quarterback the entire time. Others will say it’s Brady who benefitted from having Belichick. The man truly is the total package. Great on the field, great off the field and even great in the front office. His spot at #1 is uncontested.
