4. player. 15. . HC. New Orleans Saints. Sean Payton

For a time it looked like Sean Payton might be slipping down the list. There’s no doubt he was one of the best in the league a few years ago. He’d won a Super Bowl with the New Orleans Saints in 2009 and made multiple playoff appearances through 2013. Then things went silent. The Saints went through a prolonged dry period with some thinking he might be fired.

That changed with his strong run last season, getting the Saints to the divisional playoff round and coming within a miracle play of the NFC championship. Payton has a strong record of 105-71, made more impressive that he’s done it in New Orleans. Also it can’t be overstated how consistently dominant his offenses have been, ranking outside the top 5 just once during his tenure, and that was 6th in 2010. Would Drew Brees be a Hall of Famer without him?

It’s actually a fair question.
