2018 NFL Power Rankings: Top 32 Head Coaches in the NFL
By Erik Lambert
The talk of Mike McCarthy possibly being fired over the past year came as a shock. Here’s a man who has produced consistent excellence with the Green Bay Packers since he took over in 2008. In 12 years at the helm, he’s made the playoffs 10 times, reached four NFC championship games and won a Super Bowl in 2010. Do people realize how many teams would kill for that kind of success?
Sure McCarthy has benefitted from having Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers as his two primary quarterbacks, but the success goes both ways. Rodgers has had Hall of Fame performance throughout his career thanks to the development and coaching from McCarthy. Favre looked all but done in 2005. McCarthy squeezed another great year out of him in 2007. The guy does great work and deserves more appreciation.
