2018 NFL Power Rankings: Top 32 Head Coaches in the NFL
By Erik Lambert
People forget that the Jacksonville Jaguars aren’t the first team that Doug Marrone was head coach of. He also had a brief run with the Buffalo Bills and had some success, leading them to a 9-7 season at one point. It wasn’t until last year though that people saw how good of a coach he is, taking a dysfunctional team who couldn’t play their way out of a paper bag into a contender overnight.
The fact he did this with the unreliable Blake Bortles at quarterback makes it all the more impressive. This team carried itself with a swagger and confidence they had never had in years past and it was Marrone who guided the way. It will be interesting to see if he can get them over the hump in the AFC. It feels like this is their year, and given their cap situation it may have to be.
