10 Reasons the Washington Redskins can win 10 games

3. Continuity
The Redskins’ starting lineup this year will look very familiar.
On defense, when in their base 3-4 alignment, the only new face will be first-round draft pick Da’Ron Payne. Otherwise, with the exception of swapping out Bashaud Breeland for either Quenton Dunbar or Fabian Moreau, all the starters from last year return.
Both Dunbar and Moreau are elite level talents that fit perfectly opposite Josh Norman. Ryan Kerrigan and Preston Smith return as the outside backers. Inside linebackers Zach Brown and Mason Foster return to the starting lineup also.
D.J. Swearinger and Montae Nicholson are two outstanding safeties that can rock and roll (play FS and SS alternatively) all night long. And then there is the D line. More on that in a minute.
On offense, the continuity is not quite as comprehensive but still impressive. The offensive line returns in its entirety. Trent Williams, Shaun Lauvao, Chase Roullier, Brandon Scherff, and Morgan Moses. A pretty impressive group to say the least.
For the Lauvao haters, you’ll have to be content with the depth behind him as staying healthy has also been an issue for him. Otherwise, he can play at a very high level. Two years ago when he managed to stay healthy for most of the year he gave up zero sacks in 15 games.
Additionally, Josh Doctson is back, as are Jamison Crowder and Jordan Reed. The new faces on the offense this year include QB Alex Smith, RB Derrius Guice, and WR Paul Richardson.
No, this is not fantasy football, this is actually the Redskins roster!
4. Defensive Line
Jonathan Allen, Da’Ron Payne, and Matt Ioannidis will be rotating in and out with Anthony Lanier, Tim Settle, and Stacey McGee. This group has the potential to be absolutely dominant.
Enough said.
