The Washington Redskins have a team loaded with talented veterans and new young stars that should make a ten win season a realistic goal…

The Washington Redskins have combined back-to-back stellar draft classes with some brilliant moves in free agency and an emphasis on continuity by keeping their stars in Washington.

The experts in Vegas don’t think the Redskins can win more than five or six games. Those guys are usually right, but not this time. Washington has put together a powerhouse and here are 10 reasons why this team is headed for a ten win season and a return to the playoffs.

1. Lightning never strikes twice (Injury luck)

Last year the Redskins set an NFL record that is the stuff of nightmares. Never before in league history had the same team lost more starters to injury than any other team AND lost more backups to injury as well.

Late last season, guys in the D.C. area were quitting their jobs at Walmart and hitting the gym with hopes of being called up by the Redskins.

That can’t happen again, and it won’t.

2. Depth

With just a little tiny bit of luck the Redskins won’t see upwards of 30 players injured throughout the course of the year. But, inevitably, some guys will go down. This is the NFL, after all.

This year Washington has a roster that can back up the bravado of the “Next man up” mentality. Unlike years past when the ‘Skins lose a starter, they won’t be trotting out a player that excelled as a used car salesman just weeks earlier.

Their roster this year runs deep with proven talent at every position that goes two to three players deep in some cases.

For the doubters in the room, a quick look at the kind of talent that will either be relegated to the practice squad or outright cut from the team should provide ample evidence that this year Washington finally has quality depth across the board.
