New England Patriots

After falling short of another ring thanks to the Philadelphia Eagles, Tom Brady and the Patriots are looking to make another deep run through the postseason. Tom Brady’s clock is ticking and though nobody knows for certain when his time will be up but he cannot play at his Hall of Fame level for much longer.

The Patriots had just about everything they needed last season, but the Eagles just had more. With Carson Wentz preparing to come back from his torn ACL suffered in the regular season, the Eagles will be even better than they were last year, which is a scary proposition for the rest of the league.

New England would’ve benefitted greatly from having Julian Edelman, who tore his ACL last preseason, and Brandin Cooks, who suffered a concussion early in the Super Bowl, at Brady’s disposal. Though Edelman will be back this season, Cooks was traded to the Rams and the receiver room could use some more talent and veteran leadership.

Dez could deliver both and be in the arsenal of the greatest quarterback to ever play the game, which is also a scary proposition. This move is a clear path to more success for New England and gives Bryant the ability to win a ring now. He also would have a shorter contract given the way Bill Belichick cycles through receivers, giving Dez a chance to prove he can still play and earn a longer-term deal and security after, something every veteran covets.
