It hasn’t taken long for wide receiver Anthony Miller to become a fan favorite with the Chicago Bears. Most of this is due to his personality.

The young man is a constant and entertaining presence on Twitter. He’s also renowned for a tireless work ethic and caveman mentality when it comes to the game. Despite being just 5’11 he’s been shown multiple times on tape throwing excellent blocks to spring his running backs for big gains. This in addition to his outstanding work as a wide receiver at Memphis.

People were anxious to know more about him, especially after the Bears traded back into the 2nd round to secure his services in the draft. It didn’t take long to hear comparisons that ranged from Antonio Brown to Steve Smith. What he lacked in size he made up for in determination, effort, and attitude. Expectations are high for him already as the predicted slot receiver for this new offense being implemented by head coach Matt Nagy.

This time of year is often spent digging for interesting facts about players and it seems there’s one that Bears fans might find exciting.

Miller shares the same birthday with franchise icon Mike Singletary

Football fans by their nature are a superstitious bunch. They believe in the idea good and bad luck and doing everything possible to increase the former and decrease the latter. They also can buy into the idea of fate. For Bears fans, they might be fascinated by some intriguing nuggets uncovered regarding the birthdays of this incoming 2018 draft class. It turns out that three of the prospects in Miller, Joel Iyiegbuniwe, and Kylie Fitts were all born in October. Miller and Fitts were in fact born just two days apart in1994.

Cool right? Well, not as cool as another October snippet. Miller was born on October 9th. As it turns out he shares a birthday with a Pro Football Hall of Famer. One Chicago Bears fans should know well in 10-time Pro Bowl middle linebacker Mike Singletary. It seems like a simple connection. Then one digs a little deeper and it gets creepy.

Both were drafted in the 2nd round. Both stand 5’11. Each went to a college that was in their home state (Singletary to Baylor and Miller to Memphis). Miller wore #3. Singletary wore #63. Last but not least? Both were Dallas Cowboys fans growing up.

Maybe it’s all coincidence, but this is sports and weird things happen in sports.
