Chicago is following Philadelphia’s plan to a T; surround a young quarterback with dynamic and capable weapons on offense while solidifying the offensive line. It’s a simple plan that looks for a big money addition and one or two modest weapons who can be surefire options.
For Wentz in Philadelphia, the new additions were Alshon Jeffrey, Torrey Smith, LeGarrette Blount, and Jay Ajayi at the trade deadline. Chicago got their big money receiver with Allen Robinson and paired him with reliable options such as Trey Burton and Taylor Gabriel through free agency. Anthony Miller could be a steal in the second round out of Memphis, giving Trubisky even more weapons at receiver.
Match the historic growth trends of quarterbacks, a new head coach, and the weapons added on offense and Trubisky has no reason not to improve.
