Carolina Panthers get undrafted sleeper Reggie Bonnafon
The Carolina Panthers got one of Lamar Jackson’s favorite weapons in Reggie Bonnafon, an offensive weapon from Louisville…
The Carolina Panthers have brought in some dynamic offensive weapons in the past couple of draft classes, including their last two first-round picks in Christian McCaffrey (2017) and D.J. Moore (2018).
McCaffrey proved himself to be one of the most versatile players in college football, but perhaps not to the same degree as undrafted free agent Reggie Bonnafon out of Louisville.
Bonnafon started his collegiate career with Louisville as a quarterback, attempting 120 passes in 2014 as a freshman.
After Lamar Jackson came along, Bonnafon switched to the wide receiver position. He wasn’t Louisville’s number one target, but he was a valuable piece of their unit, catching five touchdown passes when he made a full-time switch to the receiver position in 2016.
In 2017, Louisville decided to move Bonnafon to the running back position, where he’s still obviously very raw but may have the best translatability.

He carried the ball 93 times for Louisville this past season, rushing for 459 yards and seven touchdowns. He also caught a career-high 21 passes and added another touchdown as a receiver.
Bonnafon’s versatility is exciting, and his skill set is something NFL teams and creative offensive coordinators can utilize right away.
At 6-foot-1, 213 pounds, Bonnafon ran a 4.53-second 40-yard dash at the Louisville pro day with a 38-inch vertical jump and 20 bench press reps.
This is a very good athlete and someone who could potentially be a matchup type of player at the next level.
He’s not as big as Trey Burton was coming out of Florida, but Burton did a lot of the same type of stuff Bonnafon does. If the Panthers can find a way to carve out a role for him in their offense, he could be an asset.
