Chicago Bears: 5 Training Camp Battles To Watch

Deon Bush vs. Deiondre Hall vs. DeAndre Houston-Carson vs. Nick Orr

Eddie Jackson has established himself as the obvious main man at safety for the Bears thanks to his playmaking potential and leadership. The bigger surprise was the resurgence of Adrian Amos. He was benched at the start of last season in favor of Quintin Demps. When Demps went down though he got a second chance and didn’t waste it. Those two look like the unquestioned starters moving forward. The bigger mess is the situation behind them.

Who will be the primary backups to both? Deon Bush has seen lots of playing time but done little with it. Deiondre Hall has athletic chops for the position but is transitioning from cornerback. DeAndre Houston-Carson is mostly a special teams ace. As for Nick Orr, he’s an undrafted free agent with intriguing ball skills that could be considered a wild card in this battle.
