Kevin Toliver vs. Marcus Cooper vs. Michael Joseph vs. Rashard Fant vs. Cre’Von LeBlanc

It’s nice to know the top part of the Bears cornerback position is relatively settled. Re-signing Kyle Fuller and Prince Amukamara ensure the boundary spots are taken care of while Bryce Callahan has another year to see if he can stay healthy at nickel. Sherrick McManis should be his primary backup as well given his special teams value, making it four slots locked down. As with wide receiver, that leaves two open.

Marcus Cooper was brought back to the surprise of many but he’s likely a depth option. Cre’Von LeBlanc has flashed in the past as well. They will be challenged by an intriguing trio of undrafted free agents in Kevin Toliver (LSU), Michael Joseph (Dubuque), and Rashard Fant (Indiana). All three show lots of promise on tape. Head coach Matt Nagy has said he’ll give unheralded players every chance to earn a roster spot. In other words, Cooper and LeBlanc better not get caught flatfooted.
