Arizona Cardinals

Arizona’s depth at tight end is weak at best with Jermaine Gresham the primary option for rookie Josh Rosen. Former Texas A&M receiver Ricky Seals-Jones showed midway through the season he had potential, catching three touchdowns while averaging 16.75 yards per catch in 10 games.

Fleener is a veteran option for Rosen when, not if, he becomes the full-time starter in Arizona.

Detroit Lions

After moving on from Eric Ebron this offseason the Detroit Lions and first year head coach Matt Patricia shouldn’t be satisfied with the tight end position. Luke Wilson and Levine Toilolo were brought in this offseason, but neither are primary receivers, combining for 17 catches last season.

Patricia and general manager Bob Quinn are cut from the Bill Belichick, New England Patriots tree where the tight end position is heavily valued. After failing to address the tight end position in the draft, Quinn could make a call to Fleener.

Detroit has approximately $12 million in salary cap space, per Spotrac.
