4th Round:  Kyle Lauletta (QB, Richmond) – B

Gettleman has shown plenty of positive qualities as a GM, but his passive approach to the quarterback position is not one of them. In his entire run at the job dating back to 2012, he’s drafted one QB and that was Kyle Lauletta on Day 3. It feels like this was more of a pick to placate the fans complaining about the lack of investment at the position than a true Manning succession plan. That said the kid has chops. He shows a good arm, accurate passing, and good decision-making. Is he a future starter? Maybe, but doubtful.

5th Round:  R.J. McIntosh (DT, Miami) – C+

It’s clear that the Giants might be trying to create a 3-4 variation that gets more pass rush from the defensive line rather than just the edge rushers. R.J. McIntosh is another defensive tackle who flashed capability to get up the field. He’s got good physical traits including athleticism and quickness. Like Hill though he’s not the best at the point of attack. Given how weak New York still is at linebacker, their run defense could be a problem. McIntosh will have to bulk up.
