Wide Receivers At Least 6-Feet Tall

As mentioned previously, the Patriots brought in Cordarrelle Patterson and Jordan Matthews this offseason. Although both are over six-feet tall, both have several skills that the Patriots usually covet in their shorter receivers. Kenny Britt will be back as well, but the Patriots are still going to be in the market for additional receivers.

The question is when the Patriots want to add to the receiving corps. With options available throughout the draft, the team has the luxury of deciding when to pull the trigger, rather than being forced into overdrafting a prospect in round one.

Next: New England Patriots Trade for Cordarrelle Patterson

Highly-valued skills:

arm length, 40-yard dash, 10-yard split, vertical jump (115 graded)

1. D.J. Chark (LSU) 60%

1. Justin Watson (Penn) 60%

3. Courtland Sutton (SMU) 46.6%

4. Damion Ratley (Texas A&M) 33.3%

4. D.J. Moore (Maryland) 33.3%

6. Equanimeous St. Brown (Notre Dame) 26.6%

7. Allen Lazard (Iowa State) 20%

7. Ellis Jefferson (Houston) 20%

9. Jordan Smallwood (Oklahoma) 6.6%

9. Russell Gage (LSU) 6.6%

Fell below the minimum threshold in one category, but still finished with a positive score:

1. Marquez Valdes-Scantling (South Florida) 26.6%

1. Derrick Willies (Texas Tech) 26.6%

1. Saeed Blacknall (Penn State) 26.6%

4. J’Mon Moore (Missouri) 20%

5. Jester Weah (Pittsburgh)13.3%

If Bill Belichick does want to select a wideout on opening night, Courtland Sutton and D.J. Moore are the two names to watch. He’s never drafted a receiver number one since coming to New England, but was at least intrigued enough to meet with both Sutton and Moore. D.J. Chark and Equanimeous St. Brown are two names to watch on day two, while Allen Lazard and Justin Watson would be great value picks on day three.
