Inside the Patriots Draft Room: Finding the Final Pieces to Reclaim the Lombardi Trophy
Wide Receivers Under 6-Feet Tall
Two receivers who fit into this category, Julian Edelman and Malcolm Mitchell, didn’t play a snap for the Patriots in the regular season or playoffs last year. Two others, Danny Amendola and Brandin Cooks, are no longer with the team. The Patriots didn’t sign a wide receiver under the six-foot mark this offseason, however Jordan Matthews has spent plenty of snaps in the slot and Cordarrelle Patterson joins Phillip Dorsett as the speedsters at the position.

With Mitchell, and especially Edelman, expected to play big roles next season, the undersized receiver isn’t a position the Patriots need to target in the draft. Judging by the extremely low number of receivers who scored well, it’s likely a role New England won’t address. The one prospect on this list expected to be drafted, Anthony Miller, will likely come off the board on day two.
