DL. Alabama. Da'Ron Payne. 26. player. 44. The Falcons get a steal here in Da’Ron Payne, who might be one of the most athletic interior linemen in this draft. I think Dan Quinn would love to have him on this Falcons defense because of his ability to play a variety of positions on the defensive line. There’s some untapped potential here, but a player who will come in and make an impact on all three downs right away.

15. Here’s a bit of a shock factor pick. The Saints are at an interesting point with Drew Brees where it might be time for them to bring in a player that can study under him and take over for him in a couple of years. Brees won’t play forever, and Jackson would be a great player to work with both Brees and Sean Payton. He’s an elite athlete who proved over the past couple of seasons he is much better at the QB position than he should be given credit for. The thought if Jackson with Alvin Kamara and the rest of the talent in New Orleans is crazy.. QB. Louisville. Lamar Jackson. 27. player

player. 55. The Steelers don’t know the ultimate fate of Ryan Shazier, so they take Leighton Vander Esch, who has great size and is tough as nails. He profiles extremely well for what the Steelers like to do defensively.. LB. Boise State. Leighton Vander Esch. 28

Rashaan Evans. 29. player. 52. The Jaguars could go a variety of directions with this pick. Because they pick so low in each round, it wouldn’t shock me to see them take a receiver here and maybe reach a little bit. But the Jaguars also lost Paul Posluszny to retirement this offseason and Evans could step in and start for them as a rookie.. LB. Alabama

60. The Vikings would probably love for a player like Isaiah Wynn or Will Hernandez to fall to this pick, but they take the next best thing in Austin Corbett, who is being criminally underrated throughout this draft process. If the Vikings wait until round two to address the interior offensive line, they might miss out entirely. Ensuring they get Corbett is a bit of a reach but could end up being a very good pick for them.. OG. Nevada. Austin Corbett. 30. player

After selecting their offensive tackle a couple of picks earlier, the Raiders get their interior defensive lineman here in Maurice Hurst, who provides excellent value at the bottom of the first round, as well as a pass rush presence on the interior defensive line the Raiders desperately need.. DL. Michigan. Maurice Hurst. 31. player. 28

QB. Oklahoma State. Mason Rudolph. 32. player. 45. *TRADE*: Eagles trade 32nd pick to Broncos for 40th pick, 96th pick (acquired from Buffalo), 113th pick
The Broncos passed on quarterbacks early in the first round, but they get their QB here at the back end of round one, trading some of their many extra picks to get Oklahoma State’s Mason Rudolph. Why trade up here? The main reason is to get the 5th-year team option on Rudolph’s contract, but the Broncos also don’t want to get out-bid on day two to get a QB in a trade up situation.
