Redskins See Patience Pay Off in Final Mock Draft
By Craig Stofko
Freeman is not Sony Michel or Ronald Jones, but he is an excellent running back that seems to have been lost in the shuffle. Freeman rushed for 5621 yards, he totaled 6,435 all purpose yards, and scored 64 touchdowns during his time at Oregon – all school records.
Royce Freeman can do exactly what the Redskins need him to, which is to complement Samaje Perine. Some fans have been clamoring for a replacement for Perine. That would be a mistake. A backfield boasting, Freeman, Perine, and Thompson would be outstanding.
With Oregon’s all-time leading rusher splitting carries with Oklahoma’s all-time leading rusher behind the best O-line in the NFL would set the stage nicely for one of the league’s most talented third-down specialists to come in and do his thing.
