Week 10:  vs. Detroit

Quite frankly the Bears should’ve beaten the Lions last year in Chicago if not for a botched field goal at the end. Be that as it may, the Bears play Detroit well at home. The games are always close. It also feels like the Lions are a team that has crested and started to decline. Matthew Stafford has been banged up and his defense shows little signs of improvement. Win (6-3)

Week 11:  vs. Minnesota

Kirk Cousins owns the Bears at Soldier Field. It’s an unfortunate fact. He’s visited there twice as a starter to date and beaten them both times. Now he has an even more formidable roster around him in Minnesota than he ever had in Washington. The Vikings are poised for a Super Bowl run and Cousins is the key. He likes Chicago, and that’s not good. Loss (6-4)

Week 12:  at Detroit

Remember how I said the Bears always play the Lions well in Chicago? Well, it’s not always the same in Detroit. In fact, the Bears have lost five-straight in the Motor City. Their last win was way back in 2012. Mitch Trubisky threw three interceptions the last time he went up there. It’s a tough place to place and to do it on Thanksgiving? Loss (6-5)

Week 13:  at New York Giants

The Giants crashed and burned big time last season. They were clearly a dysfunctional team from top to bottom and that’s why they were purged. Now GM Dave Gettleman is trying to put it back together fast enough for Eli Manning to get one more crack at the Super Bowl. He’s depending on Pat Shurmur to lead the way. Frankly, it’s hard to feel nervous about that. Win (7-5)
