Week 5:  BYE

Week 6:  at Miami

Another team that’s in transition. Adam Gase is trying to put his own stamp on the Miami Dolphins. The defensive just lost Ndamukong Suh. Their offensive line is badly depleted as well. Ryan Tannehill is their only option at quarterback and he’s coming off a torn ACL. The last time his team saw a Matt Nagy offense last year? They gave up 29 points. Win (4-1)

Week 7:  vs. New England

The last time the Bears played host to the Patriots at Soldier Field, it was the year they went to the NFC championship in 2010 and during a blizzard. Tom Brady still ran them off the field 36-7. He’s a lot older now but the Patriots are still the Patriots. They’re hard to beat. This game should be closer than eight years ago but Brady gets what Brady wants. Loss (4-2)

Week 8:  vs. New York Jets

Smart money says the Bears will be in luck here as the Jets will likely be starting a rookie quarterback, whomever that ends up being. Add in a general lack of offensive firepower on top of it? This feels like a game Chicago can’t afford to lose. A game they have every chance to win but seem to blow it the past few years. Not this time. Win (5-2)

Week 9:  at Buffalo

Facts are facts. The Bears have a hard time beating the Bills in Buffalo. They are 1-4 against them since 1974. Their last road win over the Bills was in 2010 and that was in Toronto. The Bills are also coming off a playoff run. They’ll have some quarterback questions to answer but this is still a team that has proven dangerous when you least expect it. Loss (5-3)
