Derrius Guice could be a top Washington Redskins target
The Washington Redskins need a top running back, and LSU Tigers running back Derrius Guice could be at the top of their list next week…
The Washington Redskins are in the market for a running back in this year’s draft, and LSU’s Derrius Guice could very well be their top target at the position.
The Redskins have shown a great deal of interest in Guice so far in the pre-draft process, sending representatives to the LSU pro day to watch him.
Not only that, but team president Bruce Allen — among other team representatives — had dinner with Guice the night before his pro day.
After the pro day, the Redskins arranged a private workout with Guice, and on Monday, he was at the Redskins’ facility for an official top 30 visit with the team (per his Instagram account).
It would be a lot of trouble for the Redskins to go to just to feign interest in a player to get to another.

Guice would certainly be an intriguing piece to add to their offense, which took on a major makeover this offseason.
The Redskins may have more stability and consistency at the quarterback position with Alex Smith taking Kirk Cousins’ spot, and they certainly upgraded in the speed department at wide receiver by replacing Terrelle Pryor with the signing of Paul Richardson from Seattle.
As for draft positioning, the Redskins may be getting a little bit lucky this year with the fact that Guice was playing injured some last year, and teams won’t draft him as high as he probably should be drafted.
When you watch Guice play in his sophomore year as a backup to Leonard Fournette (when he was fully healthy), he looks like a top 10 selection.
Because he played injured this past year and wasn’t fully himself, he could fall to pick number 13 and actually be a great value for the Redskins.
Keep an eye on this fit, as it seems the Redskins are more interested in Guice than any other team in the league.
