2 (72nd overall): Braden Smith, OG, Auburn

The Jets could look to a variety of different positions with this second pick, their first on day two of the 2018 NFL Draft, but I like the versatility of Braden Smith to upgrade their offensive line.

Braden Smith finished his collegiate career with 41 consecutive starts, and played in 53 games as a whole.

Smith has primarily played right guard for Auburn, but he could kick over and play left guard, or if the Jets want, he has the ability that he could kick out and play right tackle as well.

He certainly has the size profile for it.

This is a hard worker in the weight room whose physical strength is among the best in this year’s draft class. At 6-foot-6, 303 pounds, Smith cranked out 35 bench press reps at 225 pounds.

He takes that brute strength onto the football field and does a great job in the running game, burying his opponents.

He earned All-American honors the past two seasons at Auburn.
