The Dallas Cowboys are hosting a number of the 2018 NFL Draft’s top defensive line prospects for pre-draft visits, according to a report…

The Dallas Cowboys will be looking potentially for some more defensive line/edge rusher help early in the 2018 NFL Draft. According to a report, they will be hosting a few of this year’s class’ top players on the defensive front for pre-draft visits.

Mike Fisher reports the Cowboys will take a closer look at Harold Landry, Taven Bryan, and Da’Ron Payne as the draft is now just over three weeks away.

Here’s his report:

The Cowboys made DeMarcus Lawrence their franchise player this offseason, and drafted Michigan’s Taco Charlton in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

They have plenty invested in their defensive line, and with Randy Gregory potentially making a comeback, the Cowboys would seem more likely to add interior players than edge players, but they definitely have options.

More from NFL Mocks

Harold Landry was considered to be one of the top playmaking defensive ends going into this past seasons, but injuries and constant double teams prevented him from having the senior season many expected him to have statistically.

Still, Landry is an exceptional athlete and would have a huge impact on the opposite side of the field as Lawrence.

Taven Bryan and Da’Ron Payne are more interior players, though different types. Bryan seems like he would excel playing the four or three technique on the defensive line in the NFL, making plays one-on-one with tackles.

Payne played on one of the best defenses in all of college football at Alabama, but is more of a run-stopping five-technique who could kick inside and play the one or two on pass rushing downs.

Dallas bringing these players in for official pre-draft visits could mean absolutely nothing, but that’s not likely to be the case. If they are bringing them in on an official pre-30 visit, they’re likely serious about the possibility of drafting them.
