Odell Beckham Jr trade rumors: 5 potential landing spots
Jacksonville works a simple swap with the Giants by sending their late first round pick for the superstar receiver. NFL teams are building their entire offseasons around their quarterbacks, and it worked for Carson Wentz and the Philadelphia Eagles. Jacksonville lost number one receiver Allen Robinson to the Chicago Bears in free agency, and Moncrief is no superstar.
Throw in the releases of Allen Hurns and Marcedes Lewis, and the Jaguars receiving corp of Moncrief and Marqise Lee is questionable at best.
Few people know Beckham Jr. better than Jaguars team President Tom Coughlin, who coached and drafted Beckham Jr. in New York. It’s a reunion that could work as well as any in recent memory for both sides.
New York could use this late first round pick to draft a quarterback to develop under Eli Manning while getting the fifth-year option that will become critical down the line. Perhaps they take that quarterback number two overall and get a running back after passing up on Saquon Barkley?
Regardless, this deal is a win-win for both sides as the Giants rebuild and the Jaguars fight for a Super Bowl title, something no one would have expected to ever say.
