Buffalo Bills: Zay Jones Arrested After Insane Hotel Room Incident
By Erik Lambert
Buffalo Bills drafted Zay Jones last year in the 2nd round after he took the Senior Bowl and the scouting combine by storm out of East Carolina.
Suddenly they might be back in the market for wide receiver help based on the crazy events that transpired in the past 24 hours involving the young player. The 2017 season wasn’t the most ideal debut for him as he managed just 27 catches for 316 yards and two touchdowns. It might not be fair to criticize him after one year in which he made a gigantic leap in competition. However, something seems to have snapped in him since the end of the season.
TMZ got hold of video that showed a nude and disturbed Jones getting into a heated argument with his brother Cayleb, currently under contract with the Minnesota Vikings. It’s unclear whether booze or drugs were involved in the incident but the fact that Jones attempted to leap out a window of a high rise building can safety indicate he wasn’t in his right mind at the time. The video paints a pretty clear picture.
Zay Jones future in Buffalo unclear until situation cleared up
"“Buffalo Bills wide receiver Zay Jones got into a bizarre naked struggle with his brother — who’s also in the NFL — and it ended in a bloody mess … with Zay in handcuffs.TMZ Sports obtained this video of the crazy fight that went down Monday night in a downtown L.A. apartment building. Zay is stark raving nude while grappling with his brother — Cayleb Jones of the Vikings. You can hear Zay yelling, “I’m going to fight for Jesus” … and according to witnesses, Cayleb was trying to stop him from jumping out a 30th floor window.Zay eventually broke free, and ran into Cayleb’s gf’s apartment … you can hear her screaming. We’re told at some point, he ran back out of the apartment, entered a public balcony area and smashed his foot through a window.”"
Cayleb eventually managed to restrain his brother long enough for authorities to arrive and arrest him on felony vandalism. It’s unclear what sort of help will be sought for him moving forward. The Bills are aware of the situation but have declined further comment until more details emerge. Whether Jones will face jail time or suspension is unclear as well. One thing is for sure. The wide receiver situation for the Bills just got more challenging, even as they try to solve their ongoing quarterback crisis.
