A big name wide receiver is available on the free agent market: Jordy Nelson

After signing tight end Jimmy Graham the Green Bay Packers have reportedly released veteran wide receiver Jordy Nelson. A favorite of quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Nelson is entering his 11th season and has four 1,000 receiving yard seasons.

With Nelson now in free agency several teams will have strong interest in the 32-year-old receiver who has played in 136 games, all in Green Bay.

Here are three teams I’d keep an eye on regarding Nelson in free agency, who shouldn’t have to wait long.

New England Patriots

The Patriots moved on from Danny Amendola, who signed with the Miami Dolphins according to the NFL Network. Nelson would be another quality receiver for Tom Brady, who already has Brandin Cooks and Rob Gronkowski. Cooks is entering the final year of his contract, and Gronkowski has contemplated retirement. Additionally, Julian Edelman is coming off a torn ACL, making his status for next year unknown.

Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore needs receivers with very few options currently on their team. Breshad Perriman is a bust and injury waiting to happen, Jeremy Maclin is an aging player, and Chris Moore only has a handful of NFL starts. Nelson would be a quality veteran to put with Joe Flacco and a young receiver added through the draft.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Blake Bortles needs as many weapons around him as possible, and the Jaguars have lost a big one this offseason. Allen Robinson will sign a deal with the Bears, taking one of Bortles favorite weapons away. Marqise Lee signed an extension with the Jaguars, but even he isn’t a guarantee. Giving Bortles a veteran receiver with four 1,000 seasons could help instill confidence in Bortles and help develop the young receivers in Jacksonville.

Other teams to watch in the Jordy Nelson free agency watch will be the Buffalo Bills, New York Jets, San Francisco 49ers, and New Orleans Saints.
