Blake Bortles has a new pass catchers joining the mix: Donte Moncrief

After losing Allen Robinson to the Chicago Bears and re-signing Marqise Lee the Jacksonville Jaguars will reportedly add a veteran wide receiver to their depth chart. Former Indianapolis Colts receiver Donte Moncrief will join the AFC South champion Jaguars, helping replace the loss of Robinson.

Moncrief signs his deal the same day Danny Amendola goes to the Dolphins, Sammy Watkins agrees with the Chiefs and Paul Richardson signs with the Redskins. Tight end Jimmy Graham goes to the Green Bay Packers, which means the Packers had to release Jordy Nelson into the free agency pool.

A third-round pick of the Colts out of Mississippi in one of the greatest wide receiver draft classes in recent memory, Moncrief was a solid number two for Andrew Luck and the Colts.

In 27 starts and 53 career games Moncrief caught 152 passes with 18 touchdowns and 1,875 yards. Without Luck on the field Moncrief failed to perform, catching only 26 passes with a career-low two touchdowns.

It’ll certainly be a fresh start for Moncrief and staying in the division could give him a chip on his shoulder when he plays the Colts twice a year.

It’s a solid addition for the Jaguars considering they needed to replace Robinson and give Blake Bortles more weapons to work with. Moncrief is a solid number two receiver and he could be a quiet pick up in free agency that could pay off for the Jaguars in their quest for another AFC Championship game appearance.
