Aaron Rodgers just got himself a massive weapon that will help him in the redzone: Jimmy Graham

Free agent tight end Jimmy Graham is expected to sign a deal with the Green Bay Packers after being released by the Seattle Seahawks. Graham has 69 receiving touchdowns since 2010, the third most in the league, and is a five-time Pro Bowl selection.

Last season in Seattle Graham had a bounce-back year with 57 receptions, 520 receiving yards, and 10 touchdowns, most of which came in the redzone.

A star for the New Orleans Saints, Graham didn’t pan out in Seattle like they’d hoped after a trade involving center Max Unger and draft picks shipped him north. Graham appeared to be headed to a great situation with Russell Wilson, but now he joins one of the best quarterbacks of all-time in Green Bay.

With a new front office the Packers are finally dipping their toes into free agency. Graham is likely the first of several free agents signed by the team, and he might be the most productive.

However, the Packers have dedicated a lot of money to their receivers, even before this reported deal with Graham. According to Spotrac, the Packers have nearly $40 million dedicated to wide receivers alone, more than $10 million than the Dallas Cowboys. They will reportedly release Jordy Nelson, which clears room for a big pass catcher such as Graham.

This deal, with the financial terms not yet disclosed, gets a B from me at the moment. I need to see the money Green Bay is giving the 31-year-old Graham and how they plan on using him.
