Could the Arizona Cardinals be working on a trade for Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles of the Philadelphia Eagles? We look at the possibility…

The Arizona Cardinals are going to be in the market for a quarterback or two this offseason, so it should come as no surprise that they were one of the three teams that inquired about the availability of Tyrod Taylor in a trade.

Taylor was traded to the Cleveland Browns for the 65th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, the top pick of round three.

If that’s the going rate for Taylor, I’m guessing the price for Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles isn’t going to be any sort of bargain.

Foles is coming off of a ridiculous stretch in the playoffs, where he played the best football of his life. With Carson Wentz coming back from an ACL injury, it makes sense for the Eagles to keep Foles, even at his price, but they could be in a bit of a pickle against the salary cap.

They could still find other ways to unload cap space, but trading Foles is an option if the price is right, and the Cardinals are reportedly going to be active on the trade market for a quarterback…

There aren’t many other quarterbacks that are expected to be available in a trade this offseason. In fact, with Taylor being traded, I can’t think of anyone that’s name has been put out there except for Foles.

More from NFL Mocks

Jimmy Garoppolo was traded for a second round pick to the Patriots, but at the time, that pick looked like it could be a borderline first round pick. I wonder if the Eagles would be willing to trade Foles and perhaps a second round pick to the Cardinals in exchange for their no. 15 overall pick.

The price to acquire Foles was reportedly as high as a first and fourth round draft pick.

That would be a steep price to pay for a guy who only came in because he was needed, not because he was the best option on the team.

But Foles proved he’s worthy of a starting job and perhaps the Cardinals are the right situation. Any trade of Foles would have to come with the knowledge that he would negotiate or sign a contract extension with his new team, because his contract voids at the end of the 2018 season.

If the Cardinals are looking to trade for a quarterback, it’s possible they are in talks with the Eagles as we speak.
