Central Florida linebacker Shaquem Griffin, who is missing his left hand, posted 20 reps at 225 pounds on the bench press…
Central Florida linebacker Shaquem Griffin is one of the most inspiring football players in the 2018 NFL Draft class, and he just did one of the most incredible things you will ever see.
In a room full of cheering people, Griffin put a prosthetic hand on his left arm and posted 20 bench press reps at 225 pounds.
If this video doesn’t send chills down your spine, you might need to check your pulse…

In all my years watching the draft as a fan and covering it for this website or any other that I’ve written for, I don’t think I’ve seen anything like this. Ever.
I wasn’t expecting Griffin to even do the bench press, but what the heck do I know? This guy is full of surprises and not only is he set to work out with the linebackers on Sunday, he will also do drills with the defensive backs.

A former safety who made a very successful transition to the linebacker position, Griffin flies around the field and as we saw at the 2018 Senior Bowl, he is absolutely one of the most high effort, high intensity players you could ask for.
If you are an NFL team, this kid is worth a spot on your 53 and is going to get his teammates fired up every single play.
More than just a feel-good story, Griffin can freaking play.
He was the AAC defensive player of the year two years ago, and over the past two seasons, racked up 166 total tackles, 33.5 tackles for loss, 18.5 sacks, and four forced fumbles to go along with a pair of interceptions.
That’s flat out production, and he does it in a variety of ways.
I love this video, and I hope it goes down in history and is replayed all throughout the year. This guy is going to inspire so many people beyond football, and I absolutely love all of the success he is having.
