Lamar Jackson will not run 40-yard dash at Scouting Combine
Former Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Lamar Jackson will not run the 40-yard dash at the Scouting Combine, and focus on other drills…
Lamar Jackson is one of the fastest players in the 2018 NFL Draft, regardless of position.
That being said, he will not be running at the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine, and that’s a shame for all the viewers.
Jackson will instead be focusing on the on-field drills and other athletic drills, and it’s hard to blame him. He had to answer some questions that probably shouldn’t have ever been asked at his media session on Friday.
It’s definitely surprising that Jackson isn’t going to run the 40-yard dash at the Combine, but it’s not essential to his draft stats.
Breaking news: Lamar Jackson is really fast.
We don’t need a stopwatch to confirm that. Jackson has some of the best deep speed of any player in the class, which is partly why some people think he should make a switch to wide receiver, or at least entertain the idea.

It is a very stupid idea, but it’s been thrown out there.
Jackson had to answer questions in front of the media on Friday of whether or not teams think he should move to wide receiver, whether or not he would entertain the idea, and what he thought about the idea in general.
Jackson is too polite to tell reporters what they should be told in regards to that question. He’s a quarterback, and one of the best in this year’s class.
No one produced as many electrifying plays in college football over the past two years than Jackson. No one scored touchdowns through the air and on the ground at a higher rate than this guy.
Twice a Heisman finalist and once a victor, it would be an egregious mistake if the NFL did not give Jackson the chance he deserves to play the position he is very good at, just because he’s fast, or just because he’s black.
This guy is an elite talent. He doesn’t need a 40-yard dash to prove it.
