Billy Price injured during NFL Combine bench press
Potential first round pick Billy Price is now on the injury report
Ohio State interior offensive lineman Billy Price appeared to have injured his left shoulder at the NFL Combine.
Rated as one of the top centers in the upcoming draft class Price was participating in the bench press on one of the first days of the combine. Lifting 225 pounds only a handful of times, Price reportedly stopped and grabbed his upper left arm/shoulder.
Medical personnel took Price off the stage for evaluation, and he’ll likely undergo a series of tests to determine the sevarity of his apparent injury.
Perhaps the worst case scenario for Price would be a torn pectoral muscle or rotator cuff, which would put him out for a considerable amount of time.
Should Price require surgery his injury would mean fellow Big Ten lineman James Daniels from Iowa would rise on teams draft boards as the top center in the draft.
Minnesota, Buffalo and Philadelphia have been teams late in the first round suggested to be interested in Price. The Bills saw longtime center Eric Wood retire after suffering a neck injury this season, while Philadelphia needs depth behind veteran Jason Kelce. The Eagles could also try Price out at left guard with no long-term option in place behind Stefan Wisniewski or Chance Warmack.

Price could come into play for the Vikings if they sign a quarterback in free agency and they can save their first round pick. If Price’s injury is major, he could slip into the second or potentially the third round.
