The Houston Texans and tight end Jimmy Graham could be a really fun NFL Free Agency pairing. We examine the likelihood and the fit…

The Houston Texans don’t have a first round pick, thanks to the DeShaun Watson trade in the 2017 NFL Draft.

They also don’t have a second round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft thanks to the Brock Osweiler trade.

Because of the Texans’ lack of NFL Draft assets, they could be major players on the free agent market, and one name in particular that makes some sense is Jimmy Graham at tight end.

Graham has played the past three seasons in Seattle after emerging as a superstar while in New Orleans with the Saints. Moving to another city is going to require a tempting situation, and the Texans can provide it.

Houston has a very interesting core group of offensive skill players, obviously headlined by quarterback DeShaun Watson and wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. The Texans have talent all over their offense, but the tight end position has been difficult for them to get consistent production out of.

So many people talk about Graham possibly returning to play in New Orleans, which also makes sense, or going and chasing a title with the Patriots in New England which would also make some sense.

Houston doesn’t have the nostalgia factor that New Orleans could provide, but they do have Bill O’Brien and a similar system to that of the New England Patriots, which is obviously one that has been favorable to the tight end position in years past.

Graham’s presence in Houston would provide that team with a very reliable veteran option in an already explosive passing game when Watson is healthy, and I love the idea. The Texans don’t have their top two draft picks, so they are going to have to make some kind of a splash in free agency.

This would certainly make waves.
