The NFL has not yet invited UCF’s Shaquem Griffin to Combine
The NFL has yet to invite UCF linebacker and second team All-American Shaquim Griffin to the Scouting Combine. This is a travesty…
If the NFL isn’t all aboard the ‘bad PR’ train, they should re-consider not inviting one of the best football players in the country to one of their biggest annual events.
In a shocking revelation, one of the big stories here at the Senior Bowl is that UCF’s Shaquem Griffin has not yet received an invitation to the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine.
Griffin, whose hand was amputated when he was a four-year old boy, confirmed the rumors to reporters at Senior Bowl practice.
Griffin might be looked at by some as the ‘feel good’ story of the offseason, but this kid is more than just a story. He’s a really good football player, and he’s fortifying that fact with his performance in Mobile.
He looks quick off the edge, and as a former defensive back, he looks natural dropping into coverage. He can hit, he can run, and he has very good football instincts.

If Griffin is not invited to the Combine, and that doesn’t end up changing between now and February, there are going to be a lot of people rightfully upset.
Why would NFL teams not want to see him perform on that stage? Because he’s not going to be doing the bench press?
That’s a load of crap.
I want to see Griffin run. I want to see him run the other athletic drills. He’s going to do it at the UCF pro day anyway, so why not give him the national stage of the Combine and talk up one of the most interesting players in the draft class?
After his performance in Mobile, it would be shocking to me if the NFL didn’t alter this decision. It’s a shame many have had to shed light on it in the first place.
Griffin is a great young man and an exceptional player who played on one of the best teams in UCF history. He deserves the opportunity to put on a show in Indianapolis.
