THE DRAFT

1st Round (via BUF)

1. player. 57. Buffalo badly needs a quarterback. The Bears want to revamp more of their roster and need picks. So the two teams reach an agreement. Though Chicago sacrifices draft position, it gives Pace two extra high picks to work with. His first choice is one of the best edge rushers in the 2018 class. Harold Landry has concerns around his lack of stopping power in the run game but he’s unquestionably one of the most explosive pass rushers who is a perfect fit for a 3-4 system.. EDGE. Boston College. Harold Landry

1st Round (via BUF)

57. The Bears offense is going to be a lot more explosive in 2018. Having already added Richardson and Lee in free agency, they strike the receiver position again. This time they secure Christian Kirk, one of the most dangerous offensive weapons in the class. Not only is he a true vertical threat with speed he’s also an electric return man. If Nagy was searching for somebody who can fill the Tyreek Hill role in Chicago, this is the guy.. WR. Texas A&M. Christian Kirk . 1. player

2nd Round

Iowa. James Daniels . 2. player. 57. People are scrambling to find a young option to replace Josh Sitton at guard, who’s in his last contract year. It doesn’t have to be that complicated. An easy solution would be to move Cody Whitehair to left guard, which he’s played well at, and replace him at center with somebody capable. Hello James Daniels. He was an outstanding run blocker for Iowa in 2017 and is shows good technique in his pass protection.. C

3rd Round (via BUF)

Wake Forest. Duke Ejiofor . 3. player. 57. He’s not a freak athlete or incredibly long. Duke Ejiofor is just one of those guys who knows how to get to the quarterback. His hand technique is sharp and violent, enabling him to consistently beat blockers and there’s enough quickness to him that he can win both inside and outside.. EDGE

4th Round

57. Losing Kwiatkoski was difficult but it’s not like the Bears can’t add another body to inside linebacker in his stead. Josey Jewell has consistently been the best Iowa defender the past two years. His production speaks for itself. He’s tough, physical, intelligent and instinctive.. ILB. Iowa. Josey Jewell . 4. player

4th Round (via WSH)

4. player. 57. One thing that has become clear about players from Troy is they’re built tough and sturdy on defense. They’re also more athletic than they get credit. Blace Brown has a good mix of size, fluidity and speed. He could be a quality depth addition with upside to the secondary.. CB. Troy. Blace Brown

4th Round (via ARI)

4. player. 57. Some might try to envision Brown as a 4-3 end but he’s a bit too big for that. Given his dimensions he has a much brighter future as a 3-4 end. His mix of length, power and quickness for a big man will make him an able part of their already strong defensive front in Chicago.. DE. Virginia. Andrew Brown

5th Round

57. Indiana is traditionally a basketball school but lately they’ve churned out some decent talent on the football field. Ask Jordan Howard. Ian Thomas looks like another of those unheralded talent. He’s got size (6’5″), decent speed, solid hands and has produced when given opportunities.. TE. Indiana. Ian Thomas . 5. player

5th Round (via WSH)

57. As referenced earlier the Bears could surely use more depth at the offensive tackle position even with the arrival of Cameron Fleming. Pace likes to use the small school route and he certainly knows about Greg Senat after the East-West Shrine Game. Size, length, movement? Yes indeed.. OT. Wagner. Greg Senat . 5. player

6th Round

player. 57. To say the Bears lack size at wide receiver is untrue. Both Cameron Meredith and Dontrelle Inman were 6’3″. What they don’t have is a true colossus at 6’5″ or more. Somebody who presents an instant presence in the red zone. Allen Lazard showcases that potential out of Iowa State.. WR. Iowa State. Allen Lazard . 6
