The Chicago Bears have a new head coach in Matt Nagy, and he could bring a very underrated playmaker in Albert Wilson with him from Kansas City…

The Chicago Bears had a few primary objectives this offseason.

First and foremost, they had to make a change at head coach, and they did just that, replacing John Fox with Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy.

That move was important for a couple of reasons, mostly because they are bringing in a very bright offensive mind and Andy Reid disciple to work with their young, franchise quarterback Mitch Trubisky.

Next on Chicago’s offseason to-do list is to bring in talent to surround Trubisky, who was working with a list of players at receiver that isn’t something you’d write home about.

Of course, the injury bug didn’t do the Bears any favors at the receiver position, but there’s a clear need for talent at receiver with Kendall Wright leading the team with 59 receptions for 614 yards. Second on the team was Josh Bellamy.

Third was Tarik Cohen.

You can see where I’m going with this.

Since Nagy is coming over from the Chiefs, it makes sense that he will recruit unrestricted free agent Albert Wilson to come with him to Chicago, as Wilson is a very underrated player and is coming off of a ‘career’ year with the Chiefs.

He wasn’t producing no. 1 receiver numbers by any means, but Wilson has long showed promise as a potential number two type of guy with big time speed and very good ability after the catch.

For a young quarterback like Trubisky, Wilson could be a perfect outlet and I think he would rack up catches in Nagy’s offense in Chicago.

Of course, we’re a couple of months ahead of ourselves here, but this is a move that makes sense since the player and coach have worked together, and because the team has an obvious need at the position.

Wilson is going to be a very interesting free agent to track this offseason, and this destination makes perfect sense.
