Josh Allen accepts Senior Bowl invitation, per report
Wyoming quarterback and 2018 NFL Draft prospect Josh Allen has reportedly accepted his invitation to the 2018 Senior Bowl…
The 2018 Senior Bowl just got even more intriguing.
One of the most polarizing prospects in the entire class accepted his invitation, becoming the eighth and final quarterback to accept an invitation. That quarterback is none other than Wyoming’s Josh Allen, a projected top 10 pick by many.
Here’s the initial report of Allen’s accepted invitation:
The addition of Allen into the Senior Bowl gives us one of the best groups of quarterbacks we’ve seen in the game, perhaps ever.
Here’s the list of the eight participants at quarterback:
Josh Allen, Wyoming
Baker Mayfield, Oklahoma
Mason Rudolph, Oklahoma State
Luke Falk, Washington State
Kyle Lauletta, Richmond
Brandon Silvers, Troy
Mike White, Western Kentucky
Kurt Benkert, Virginia
That list features two of my top five quarterbacks in the 2018 class, and Four of the top six.

With the Heisman Trophy winner Mayfield in the fold, this group at the Senior Bowl has significant star power, and with Allen joining he and Mason Rudolph, there’s now some competition for who will stand out the most to the many NFL scouts and coaches and general managers in attendance.
There’s a good chance Allen will be on the North squad, which is being coached by the Denver Broncos this year. Mayfield will also be on the North roster, and it’s fair to assume that Luke Falk will be on that squad as well.
The roster alignments are usually a bit of a toss-up, but geography does come into play to a degree. It would be tough to justify a Wyoming player for the South Roster, but it all depends on what the Senior Bowl wants and what the coaching staffs want.
Allen needs the Senior Bowl to prove that he can be an effective and accurate passer against top competition. To this point, he has not done that.
This is going to be a great opportunity for Allen to answer questions about his on-field ability. Not that anything he does in this game is going to erase the past two seasons, but it’s possible that he could make believers out of some who currently doubt him.
