Going into the draft, there are two prospects that I would consider the best fits and biggest targets for the Dallas Cowboys. Unfortunately, neither one will likely be available when they make their selection with the 19th overall pick. Georgia linebacker Roquan Smith has steadily seen his stock rise and is now considered a top-10 pick. Alabama wide receiver Calvin Ridley is the most polished receiver in this class, with the potential to be a WR1 right from the beginning. But this potential will also likely see him go top-10.

One player to keep an eye on is SMU wide receiver Courtland Sutton. While he certainly has the measurables and tools to be a top-10 receiver (6’4″, 230 lbs, expected to run a 4.5 40-yard dash), he could see slip down draft boards. Sutton plays similarly to Mike Evans, he likely won’t burn you down the field but is still considered a deep threat. His size will intrigue most scouts, and he’ll be on the first-round radar for most teams if he tests well at the combine.

Sutton would give the Cowboys a new WR1 to grow alongside Dez Bryant. His skill-set should mesh well with the rest of the offense and would open things up for Dak Prescott.
