Throw #4

Not only do we get another instance of Mahomes’ elite arm strength here, we also get a sample of how much he’s developed in pro-concepts, taking the ball under center and running play-action on a deep drop.

This is proof, viable proof, that college quarterbacks who are the product of a ‘system’ can learn pro-style concepts quickly and implement them into their repertoire.

Mahomes’ technique looks flawless here as he drops back in play-action, steps up into the pocket, and then we see some of his schoolyard style come into play. He makes an off-balance throw that — once again — defies normal human capability, and just shoots out of his hand like a missile.
