2018 NFL Draft: Josh Allen looks electric in Wyoming bowl game
Josh Allen is eliminating the mystery surrounding him in the 2018 NFL Draft
After missing a large portion of Wyoming’s season with a shoulder injury redshirt junior quarterback Josh Allen looked fantastic in the first half of the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl against Central Michigan.
Allen came out firing going 7/11 with three touchdowns to start the game, and looked completely healthy playing in front of NFL talent evaluators. Perhaps the most important one was Denver Broncos general manager John Elway, who could look to draft his second first-round quarterback and the third for the Broncos since Tim Tebow in 2010.
The Wyoming quarterback did leave the first half to have his right knee and foot evaluated in the medical tent but received the thumbs up to return.
Allen came out with no sign of rust or pain from his shoulder injury, throwing bullets across the field. His first touchdown to Austin Conway was a laser down the middle of the field in tight traffic. He also showed some mobility escaping pressure and providing help as a lead blocker on a reverse run.
Considered the greatest mystery among quarterbacks in the 2018 draft class Allen has drawn comparisons to Ben Roethlisberger and Jake Locker.
He possesses the size and the arm, but questions still remain after playing just 26 games in college and making questionable decisions that have led to interceptions.
Allen is expected to declare for the NFL Draft after graduating last weekend but his status for the Senior Bowl is up in the air. It would be in his best interest to attend the showcase in Mobile, Alabama but it could all depend on who his representation will be.
