ON THE BRINK

Dirk Koetter (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)

The string of narrow losses continue to pile up. This on top of the reported tension between head coach Dirk Koetter and quarterback Jameis Winston. Normally under circumstances like this it’s the coaching getting the boot at the end of the season. This especially given the high expectations at the start of the year after Tampa finished 9-7 in 2016. Koetter was promoted to help this offense take off. It hasn’t happened.

Hue Jackson (Cleveland Browns)

Seriously are the owners this bad? Would they honestly consider keeping a head coach who has one win in 30 games? Never mind the fact that they aren’t making a good impression on new GM John Dorsey by forcing him to keep Jackson in place through next year. On the other hand if the Browns happen to finish 0-16, it might force their hand to green light the change.
