THE DRAFT

1st Round

57. He’s not the flashy athlete that Floyd was coming out of college, but one thing is clear. Clelin Ferrell is a man tackles don’t like blocking. Not only does he can enough burst and bend to beat them outside, his long arms and power base allow him to deliver a nasty bull rush as well. He still hasn’t quite figured out how to use his full size yet. When he does, it’s going to be devastation.. OLB. Clemson. Clelin Ferrell . 1. player

2nd Round (via NYJ)

Texas. Connor Williams . 2. player. 57. The offensive line is what it is. It’s not elite in any sense but the group can deliver some strong performances. In other words it’s a decent group with room to get a lot better. Connor Williams might’ve been a top 10 pick in 2018 but odds are he may take a tumble down boards for two reasons. He was hurt a large portion of this year and is also a bit underweight. Athletically though he’s the best left tackle in the class.. OT

4th Round

57. Look Eddie Goldman has proven himself a stud when on the field. A highly capable nose tackle. At the same time he’s also injury-prone. This could be the third-straight season he ends up on injured reserve. The Bears have to start thinking about building the depth chart behind him. Harrison Phillips has done a great job at Stanford. Like Goldman he’s got that nice mix of run stopping size and power along with enough quickness to rush the passer.. DT. Stanford. Harrison Phillips . 4. player

4th Round (via ARI)

57. As stated earlier the injury issues to Bryce Callahan make him unreliable at slot corner. Adding another body to that position would not hurt at all. Mike Hughes has quietly been one of the reasons UCF had such an outstanding season in 2017. He’s a tad undersized but fluid and quick in coverage. Coaches can trust him in one-on-one situations.. CB. UCF. Mike Hughes . 4. player

4th Round (via NYJ)

OLB. Ohio State. Tyquan Lewis . 4. player. 57. The situation with Tyquan Lewis is an odd one. Anybody who watches him can see an athlete with size and huge potential. There are times he flashes as a pass rusher but thus far he hasn’t quite put it all together. Still he brings value to a defense as he is which is versatility and athletic prowess. Given more time to figure out the rushing tricks, he can be a steal.

5th Round

5. player. 57. There’s something to keep in mind here. Kyle Long will likely endure another off-season of surgeries to fix his battered body. Then there is the fact Josh Sitton is entering the last year of his contract. The Bears must be proactive in building behind them at guard. Will Clapp is an experienced, tough and strong blocker from a proven program at LSU.. OG. LSU. Will Clapp

6th Round

57. While the need for a receiver at this point is greatly diminished, that doesn’t mean the Bears shouldn’t take an opportunity to add another potential playmaker. He’s not an athletic phenom but Hunter Renfrow always seems to come up with the big catch. He is another of those quick, savvy slot receivers that just know how to get themselves open and never disappoint in big situations.. WR. Clemson. Hunter Renfrow . 6. player
