Josh Gordon (WR)

In a surprising shift of gears, Pace decides to put all his cards on the table. Not only does he break out the check book here, but he also softens his policy against signing playing with iffy backgrounds. There’s no denying that Josh Gordon has his demons, but his dedication to get clean and come back after three years out of the league is admirable. He’s also continuing to prove that he’s a beast on the field. The Bears don’t have a talent of his caliber, so they decide to take the risk.

Paul Richardson (WR)

Pace isn’t done yet. Shortly after nabbing Gordon, he doubles down. This time he goes for an up-and-coming talent in Paul Richardson who’s enjoying a breakout year in Seattle. The former 2nd round pick is finally living up to his draft billing with over 660 yards and six touchdowns in 13 games. He’s a big play threat with strong hands that can win contested situations. Pair him with Gordon, Meredith and Wright and suddenly the Bears are in business.

Jeremiah Attaochu (OLB)

Rebuilding the outside linebacker position will be a primary job for Pace this off-season. He needs the position to get younger and deeper in a hurry so as to help Leonard Floyd. Thanks to a defensive scheme switch, Jeremiah Attaochu has found himself out of position with the Chargers. He’s an outside linebacker, not a defensive end. Coming to Chicago will present him an opportunity to get his once promising career back on track.

Olsen Pierre (DE)

Mitch Unrein is fighting age and injury now. Jonathan Bullard and Roy Robertson-Harris will pick up the slack at defensive end, but they need to get another quality depth piece if possible. Olsen Pierre has had a fine season for the Arizona Cardinals. He fits the 3-4 system well and shows a mix of run stoppage and pass rush skill. He’ll never be the star, but he can do some of the dirty work.
