Ryan Pace has liked to say he prefers to keep his own players in house if possible. Well he’s going to have a ton of work to do here. Thankfully he’s got the money to get it done. Sanchez has proven himself a great locker room guy and mentor to Mitch Trubisky. He can fill the backup role just fine. Cunningham and McManis are two special teams aces that should be retained. Meredith, Wright and Inman aren’t stars but each has proven he can be a decent pass catcher worth keeping around.

Compton has been a reliable backup at guard. Houston and Acho will need to be retained with McPhee and Young going out. Jenkins has actually done a fair job filling in along the defensive line. Jones is having the best year of his career and deserves a new deal. Timu is a capable reserve. Amukamara and Fuller aren’t stars but they make a solid tandem. Callahan makes the secondary better when he’s on the field, so keeping him is worth it despite the injury issues.
