Martinas Rankin, OT, Mississippi State

Height: 6-5
Weight: 307

For my money, there is perhaps no better value at the tackle position in this year’s draft class than Martinas Rankin of Mississippi State.

He plays with a mean streak, but has great feet and can hold up incredibly well in pass protection as a left tackle, which I think he will excel at in the NFL for a long time.

When I watch Rankin, what I see is one of the most consistently good tackles in the country. He is a former community college transfer that came to Mississippi State and immediately had success. I wouldn’t be shocked to see Senior Bowl coaching staffs give him a look at guard as well, as NFL teams will have the ability to use him almost anywhere along the line.

That said, I think this guy is going to really excel as a left tackle at the next level, and he’s going to be one of the big risers from this year’s Senior Bowl.

Key Stat: Since coming to Mississippi State as a community college transfer, Rankin has been named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll twice.
