Will the Cleveland Browns ever get it right?

Few sports franchises have suffered as long or as bad as the Cleveland Browns in recent years. With no answer at the quarterback position or a single win in sight, the Browns are looking at owning the number one overall pick for the second consecutive season.

There are several options the Browns can look at going into the offseason with the number one pick likely in hand. Perhaps the easiest is to keep the pick and take another spin on the quarterback carousel. USC’s Sam Darnold and UCLA’s Josh Rosen are the leading candidates to be the first quarterbacks off the board despite struggling at times this season in California.

If the Browns want to give DeShone Kizer another opportunity they could draft running back Saquon Barkley to add electricity to their offense. Barkley has been a leading Heisman candidate for Penn State all season long and is a weapon in every aspect of the game.

A stretch could be drafting an offensive lineman with Joe Thomas going down with an injury. Oklahoma’s Orlando Brown, Notre Dame’s Mike McGlinchey and Quenton Nelson, and many more names will come up in the offensive line category next offseason.

Perhaps the most profitable way to handle the number one pick is to trade it. While that hasn’t worked for the Browns in the past with Deshaun Watson and Carson Wentz the quarterbacks in this years class carry way more questions then years past.

If the Browns are able to trade out they could still be in a great position to add talent with whatever picks they add and the Texans’ first round pick from the Watson trade.
