Wife of Brent Grimes Makes Wild Claim about Derek Carr

There’s a reason Brent Grimes has had a hard time finding work with certain teams in the past. His wife can be a bit of a handful. To put it mildly.

Miko Grimes has developed a reputation over the years for being “outspoken.” In other words she’s not afraid to say anything about anybody. She can be especially vicious in regards to her husband and whether she thinks teams are disrespecting him. However, the woman got herself into boiliing hot water recently when she appeared on “The Breakfast Club” radio program in New York City.

It’s a show known for being on the cutting edge of controversial and Grimes didn’t disappoint when she made an inflammatory claim regarding Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr. According to her the Pro Bowler was angry with his offensive line over their decision to protest the national anthem, all five men being African-American. Carr is a devout Christian and known for his strong patriotism. Grimes claims he got in a fight with is linemen over the issue.

As retaliation, they refused to block for him in a game against the Denver Broncos. A game where he ended up injuring his back.

It didn’t take long for Grimes’ story to come unraveled. Dianna Russini spoke with sources that explained the situation. The Raiders had intended to stay in the locker room for their game against the Redskins on Sunday night. However, they had to come out before the anthem for the coin toss and were not allowed to go back. So instead players chose to protest individually. At no time did Carr make a statement that anybody had to stand.

Shortly after that, Raiders left tackle Donald Penn chimed in on the subject.

Indeed this does feel like a poorly though-out grab for attention by Grimes. Especially given her long history. This though is by far her worst character assault of them all, intentionally trying to throw an innocent man under the bus for no other reason than it would get people talking.
