  • One week after facing North Carolina State’s Bradley Chubb, potentially the first defender selected in the 2018 NFL Draft, the Fighting Irish offensive line will have to deal with another top edge rusher from the ACC.

This time around it will be Wake Forest defensive end Duke Ejiofor looking to create havoc in Notre Dame’s backfield.

With tackle Mike McGlinchey and guard Quenton Nelson manning the left side of the Notre Dame offensive line, Chubb found much of his success lined up to the offense’s right. He recorded eight tackles, three for a loss and a sack in the game. Can Ejiofor have similar success? If he does, his 2018 NFL Draft stock will get a major boost.

At 6-foot-3 and 272 pounds, Ejiofor is best suited as a 4-3 defensive end, which is what he plays for the Demon Deacons. He’s a solid athlete who should impress at the Scouting Combine.

If he can end the season on a good run, an early day two selection isn’t out of the question. Keep an eye on Ejiofor this weekend, especially when he’s lined up at right defensive end across from McGlinchey.
